Routines for asking about violence among elderly care recipients and clients

Routines are vital. The City of Gothenburg contacted Amphi for concrete assistance in developing internal routines related to elderly care recipients and clients who are victims of violence. It became apparent within the elderly and care and welfare administration that the development of clear guidelines and processes was needed to routinely inquire about violence, and Amphi took on the task of leading the work.

We began with an in-depth needs analysis. The administration was carefully scrutinised, and needs were identified. Based on the results of the analysis, we presented proposals on how to best proceed and created a direction.

Amphi then led two workshops, with the participation of working group from the City of Gothenburg. Ideas flowed and plans began to take shape.

After shaping the ideas into a concrete vision, the new procedure underwent a thorough review and quality assurance process. Every word was important; every detail was carefully considered. Together with a strategist from the City of Gothenburg, the words were woven together into a routine that was not just words on paper but a voice for those who needed it most.

The result of all this dedicated work? The document ”Routine for asking about violence and acting on domestic violence, Äldre samt vård- och omsorgsförvaltningen” is intended to provide support and guidance to employees and managers working within government and service provider administrations. A tool to instill confidence in professionals and citizens alike.

The purpose was clear and straightforward; to provide guidelines and support for systematically inquiring about violence, often referred to as screening. We are pleased to have been able to contribute to the important work of the City of Gothenburg.
